Frequently asked questions

Located just one mile south of Middletown on Route 11 near the intersection of I-66 and I-81, 53 miles north of Harrisonburg, 15 miles south of Winchester, and 65 miles west of Washington, D.C.From I-81 (north or south) take exit 302, travel west on Route 627 to US Route 11 in Middletown, then travel south. From I-66 take exit 1A to I-81 South, continue until exit 298 for Route 11 toward Strasburg, then turn right to follow Route 11 north.

Entrance to our museum, hiking trails, and the Cedar Creek and Belle Grove National Historical Park is free.  Many of our programs and activities are also free, though occasionally programs and guided tours hosted by by the Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation do require a registration fee which supports our preservation efforts.

Printed donation forms can be mailed (along with a check, money order, or with completed credit or debit card fields) to our Museum and Visitor Center located at 8437 Valley Pike, Middletown, Virginia 22645. Donations can also be made over the phone (please have a credit or debit card handy for this option) by calling 540-869-2064. Donations can also be made by texting the code CEDAR to 53-555. Online Reenactment Participant  Registration can be found here for individuals. Additionally,  printable PDFs are available for download to register large groups or families, as well as artillery pieces or for Sutlers. For mail in Registration, please include a check or money order written out to the Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation and this printed form to: 8437 Valley Pike, Middletown, Virginia 22645. Spectator tickets will be available at Admissions and Parking during the weekend event, all day both Saturday and Sunday! 

We do not host paranormal investigations or ghost tours on the Cedar Creek Battlefield.
